Network Technician I or II (3+ Years Experience)

Position Location: Cincinnati, OH

Job Description:

The Network Technician will ensure that industry best practices and methodologies are applied to all network projects involving LAN, WAN and WLAN network services. The technician will be responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of networking technologies within our customer’s network environments. The technician will also analyze and provide recommendations in the resolution of network problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and work closely with customer, carrier, and internal resources to diagnose and resolve service interruptions. The Network Technician will design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and WLAN products and devices using the following:

  • Cisco, Fortigate, and/or Avaya Firewalls, Routers, and Switches
  • Wireless Access Points and Controllers
  • LAN/WAN/WLAN/MPLS/Point-to-Point
  • 802.1Q VLAN Configuration
  • VMware vSphere/Citrix XenServer/Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7
  • Ethernet Packet Capture and Analysis
  • CLI network utilities (ping, traceroute, netstat, etc.)
  • Backup and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain appropriate SLA within tickets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of telecom and network technologies and routing protocols
  • Responsible for 24×7 uptime of telecom and network infrastructure
  • Must have 3-5 years of solid network experience
  • Ability to support normal work schedules along with on-call shifts

Desired Skills:

  • CCNA/CCNP with minimum 3 years network experience
  • Associate’s Degree in IS/IT or equivalent
  • Enterprise Security Experience
  • VoIP Telephony and Unified Communications (Cisco/Avaya/Mitel/Lync)
  • Campus Network Experience
  • RF Site Assessment and Design Experience
  • Indoor & Outdoor Wireless Solutions
  • Process oriented, good understanding of change control and ticketing systems

Certification Expectations:

Employed technicians will be responsible to maintain and adhere to applicable certifications for their position and job functions. MVD makes available necessary training options and offers considerations for additional training based on technology evaluations and performance reviews.

Additional Considerations:

Datacenter experience a plus Experience with VoIP PBX and voice networking a plus.

Sales & Business Development Representative

Position Location: Cincinnati, OH

Position Type: Full-time

Travel Required: Yes, Local

Position Overview:

As the Sales & Business Development Representative, you will concentrate on Small and Medium Business (SMB) in a sales role. Using the wide array of MVDconnect business partners and offerings, you will focus on creating new opportunity in business communications and collaboration, including traditional support, hosted offerings, and managed service models.

Job Duties:

  • Focus on introducing new technology to businesses using MVDconnect and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ultimately create winning ROI models to encourage customer decision.
  • Selling recurring maintenance, carrier, and managed service models, as well as one-time purchases with local businesses considered ideal targets for our solutions.
  • Access to MVDconnect legacy customers and will also be accountable for creating new opportunities and networking.
  • Create an extensive network of potential customers while continuing to find new networks using MVDconnect platforms.
  • General duties:
    • Focus on daily over-the-phone and face-to-face to generate new customer opportunities
    • Ability to secure 2-3 face-to-face appointments per day to promote MVDconnect and introduce MVDconnect SMEs to support proposed solutions.
    • Deliver professional and effective presentations and value using MVDconnect team and SMEs

Skills & Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • Technical aptitude and interested in emerging technology trends
  • Extrovert with a passion for customer engagement, satisfaction, and self-driven sales success.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize MVDconnect CRM (Tiger Paw) to manage customer pipeline and discuss during weekly sales meeting for all targets and needs.
  • Support follow up targeted email and direct mail marketing campaigns aligned with current offerings and opportunities.
  • Excellent communicator and work well in team environment.
  • Skilled in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual customer communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multi-task, and follow up on progress.
